Apart from showcasing nearly the entire supply chain of the textile and garment industry, Saigontex - Saigonfabric 2025 serves as a vital platform for connecting producers, suppliers, and buyers.

Notably, the four-day event also includes a product showcase programme, offering suppliers a venue to present their latest innovations and technologies in textile and garment manufacturing; and a fashion show introducing international fashion brands up close.

General Director of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) Cao Huu Hieu highlighted the vital role played by the textile industry in the national economic growth, saying that it has long been a spearhead economic sector with a high and almost continuous growth rate from 1990 to 2024.

Especially, Saigontex which is organised for 35 years, significantly contributes to the industry’s development, serving as a trusted and effective bridge between Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises and international suppliers, facilitating deeper integration of Vietnam’s textile industry into the global value chain, he said.

Moving forward, the exhibition will become even more significant as green transformation and digitalisation emerge as long-term trends in the global and Vietnamese textile markets, he added.

According to Tran Ngoc Liem, Director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in HCM City (VCCI-HCM), in 2024, the textile and garment industry recorded an export value of 44 billion USD, up 11.26% from 2023. It ranked among the country’s top eight export sectors with revenues exceeding 10 billion USD, enabling Vietnam to surpass Bangladesh and become the world’s second-largest textile and garment exporter, after China.

The sector significantly contributes to not only promoting domestic and international trade growth, but also attracting foreign investment to Vietnam over the years, he said.
