During the business trip to Japan from November 16 to 22, the high-level delegation from Tay Ninh witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a strategic port partnership between Long An International Port (Vietnam) and Kobe Port (Japan). The event took place in Osaka with the participation of local government representatives and related businesses, marking a new step in logistics infrastructure cooperation, maritime transport, and green port development.

According to the MOU, the two ports will enhance collaboration to improve operational capacity, share modern management experiences, expand international partner connections, and aim to develop smart and sustainable port models – a key trend in enhancing supply chain efficiency and reducing emissions today. This direction aligns with Vietnam's strategy for sustainable port and logistics development in the coming years.

The signing event is a testament to the efforts to promote economic cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, while also enhancing the role of Vietnamese logistics enterprises in the global supply chain. Prior to the signing ceremony, the Tay Ninh delegation conducted a field survey at Kobe Port – one of the oldest ports with modern infrastructure, serving as a central hub in the Kansai region within the international logistics network.

During the working week in Japan, the Tay Ninh delegation continued to participate in investment promotion conferences in Osaka, Tokyo, and Yamanashi, showcasing potential, promoting industrial–logistics cooperation, and developing human resources, thereby contributing to the deepening of Vietnam–Japan economic relations.

On the Vietnamese side, Long An International Port is currently one of the fastest-growing seaports in the southern region, with a proactive approach to deep integration. The port has established cooperative relationships with major partners, including Oakland, Long Beach, and Portland in the USA; Gothenburg in Sweden; the Bohaiwan–SPG port cluster in China; and OPASCOR in the Philippines. After nearly a year of exchanges and surveys, Long An Port and Kobe Port agreed to establish a strategic port partnership aimed at promoting stable and sustainable development in the long term.
