Ms. Nitya Chambers, Editorial Director and Vice President of Content at Lonely Planet, stated that this year's list honors places that are “rich in local identity while showcasing the resilience of post-pandemic tourism”.
In this year's list of 25 top destinations, Vietnam is represented solely by Quy Nhon. The city, now a ward in Gia Lai province, is nestled between the sea and mountains with long stretches of coastline.
Dubbed the "green gem of Central Vietnam", it is renowned for its soft curving beaches, crystal-clear waters, and untouched rocky outcrops like Eo Gio, Ky Co, and Hon Kho.
Beyond its captivating natural scenery, Quy Nhon preserves the cultural imprints of the Champa civilization through relics such as Banh It Tower and Twin Towers, along with a distinctive culinary scene featuring fish cake noodles, crispy shrimp pancakes, and fresh seafood.
