He is the last of the 16 COVID-19 patients confirmed so far in Vietnam to have been cleared of the virus and dischargd from hospitals.
The man, aged 50, contracted the virus from her 23-year-old daughter who was among eight workers returning home from Wuhan, China on January 30, 2020.
He showed symptoms of cough and runny nose on February 11 and was tested positive for the virus one day latter. After 15-day quarantine and treatment at local clinic, he is now in stable health condition.
As of February 26, as many as 80,596 people contracted the COVID-19 in the world, including 77,665 in China, 1,146 in South Korea, 322 in Italy, and 95 in Iran.
Death toll rose to 2,710, including 2,663 in China, 15 in Iran, 11 in South Korea, 11 in Italy, one in the Philippines, two in Hong Kong, China, one in Japan, one in France, one in Chinese Taipei and four on the Diamond Princess.
