Held at the Vietnamese Cuisine Restaurant, the program attracted nearly 200 parents, children, and international friends. Performances of singing, dancing, and storytelling about "Uncle Cuoi – Sister Hang" by the children brought a joyful atmosphere, reminiscent of the traditional Mid-Autumn beauty back home.

Especially, children participated in various experiential activities: making lanterns, pinwheels, paper masks, and colouring folk paintings; enjoyed fish-shaped mooncakes – a treat tied to Vietnamese Mid-Autumn memories; and together paraded with lanterns, broke the feast, and joyfully took home meaningful gifts.
Mr. Vu Van Truong, representing the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, affirmed: “The Mid-Autumn Festival is not only a children’s festival but also an occasion for the Vietnamese community in Fukuoka to strengthen bonds, preserve, and spread the traditional cultural values of the nation. We hope that the children, even if born and raised in Japan, will always feel the love for their homeland through such festivals.”

Amidst the reunion atmosphere, camaraderie grew stronger, and the community's voice became more heartfelt. Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh – President of the Association of Vietnamese in Fukuoka and Head of the Organising Committee emphasised: “Every community event like today’s Mid-Autumn Festival is an opportunity for people to meet, share, and strengthen solidarity. We particularly focus on organising for children, as this is a way for the younger generation to have fun and nurture their Vietnamese identity.”

Seeing the brightly lit lanterns in the children's hands, a mother's love grows even deeper in a foreign land. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, President of the Vietnamese Women's Association in Kyushu, emotionally shared: “Seeing the radiant smiles of the children during the moonlit night gives us more motivation to continue supporting the community, bringing meaningful activities to nurture their souls and guide them towards their roots.”

Connecting the Community, Spreading Vietnamese Values
A special moment in the program was introducing the "Joyful Vietnamese Learning" book series. Amidst the lively drum beats and the joy of the festival, Professor Nguyen Minh Thuyet – Chief Editor – introduced: “The book series is not just a language textbook but a cultural bridge, helping young expatriates learn Vietnamese naturally and vividly, thereby nurturing pride and connection with their homeland.”

Not only enjoying the Mid-Autumn Festival, the community and children in Fukuoka also had the opportunity to interact and take photos with artists from Vietnam, such as MC Tuan Tu, singer Quang Anh, artist Phan Anh, and designer Cao Minh Tien. The friendly and approachable presence of the artists brought unexpected joy, enhancing the festive atmosphere. Smiles, handshakes, and souvenir photos became beautiful memories, connecting hometown artists with the expatriate community abroad.

The "Joyful Mid-Autumn Festival 2025" program was a children's festival and an occasion for expatriate families to gather, share, and connect.
