Japan provides non-refundable aid for various projects in Vietnam

Speaking at the event, Consul General ONO Masuo stated that the three projects receiving aid this time are part of the Japanese Government's "Grassroots Grant Assistance Program (GGP)" for the fiscal year 2025, focusing on improving educational facilities and equipping basic healthcare infrastructure.

“The three projects funded this time are Tran Hoi Primary School 1 (Ca Mau Province); Tra Vinh University Hospital (Tra Vinh Province) and An Minh Medical Center (An Giang Province). The Japanese Government is delighted to select and support these projects as they are highly urgent, providing localities with better conditions to improve education and healthcare for the people.” Consul General ONO Masuo further shared.
Specifically, the aid project for building six classrooms at Tran Hoi Primary School 1, Tran Van Thoi commune (Ca Mau Province), with a total value of 117,295 USD, aims to address the shortage of classrooms and contribute to enhancing a safe educational environment according to national standards. It also improves the educational and learning environment for children in the area.

The project to equip new Traditional Medicine - Rehabilitation equipment at Tra Vinh University Hospital (Tra Vinh Province), with a total value of 70,674 USD (including: 01 Shockwave Machine, 01 Therapeutic Ultrasound Machine, 01 High-Frequency Laser Machine, 01 12-Head Laser Acupuncture Machine, 01 Electrical Stimulation Machine), aims to enable the hospital to perform specialized physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare services in the region.
Additionally, the project to equip a gastrointestinal endoscopy system for An Minh Medical Center (An Giang Province) with a total funding of 81,099 USD aims to help the center detect gastrointestinal diseases early and provide timely and appropriate treatment, contributing to improving healthcare services for the local population.

Consul General ONO Masuo expressed his hope that the staff and employees of the recipient agencies will ensure compliance with the aid contract terms during project implementation. He also urged careful use and maintenance of the classroom facilities and medical equipment to ensure long-term benefits for the local community.
“Through this aid package, we also hope to contribute to strengthening and deepening the cooperative and friendly relationship between Japan and Vietnam now and in the future,” Consul General ONO Masuo emphasized.

Representatives of the aid-receiving units also committed to using the funds carefully and effectively to bring the most practical benefits to the local population.
It is known that Japan, as the largest ODA donor to Vietnam, alongside cooperation in implementing large-scale infrastructure projects like METRO and expressways, also focuses on humanitarian grassroots aid projects like these to bring direct benefits to local residents.
