WVR - On January 18, the Vietnamese Embassy in Slovakia organized the Homeland Spring 2026 program, spreading the warm atmosphere of the traditional Tet holiday to the Vietnamese community living and working in Slovakia. This event helped strengthen ties with the homeland and enhance community connections.

The event took place in a solemn yet warm atmosphere, highlighted by cultural performances rich in Spring themes, orchestrated and performed by the community members themselves.

In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Slovakia Pham Truong Giang extended New Year greetings to all attendees, while acknowledging and reviewing the vibrant and positive activities of the community throughout 2025.

The Ambassador emphasized the important role of the Vietnamese community in Slovakia during 2025, a year marking the 75th anniversary of Vietnam-Slovakia diplomatic relations and the preparations for the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Ambassador also praised the contributions of the community in promoting and disseminating major national events, including the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Additionally, he highlighted efforts in maintaining Vietnamese language classes and nurturing a sense of homeland among the younger Vietnamese generation in Slovakia.

Representatives from the Vietnamese Association in Slovakia, the Košice-East Slovakia Party Cell, and two Honorary Consuls of Vietnam in Slovakia also delivered speeches, emphasizing the community's role in preserving cultural and educational identities, while actively contributing to the friendly relations between Vietnam and Slovakia.

On this occasion, the Embassy presented Tet gifts to Vietnamese associations and groups, demonstrating care and encouragement for the overseas Vietnamese community. The program concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, further strengthening the bonds among the Vietnamese community in Slovakia as the New Spring begins.
