Health ministry confirms 268th COVID-19 infection case

The Ministry of Health reported Thursday morning that the total number in Vietnam was 268. |
Patient 268 was a 16-year-old Hmong ethnic girl in a far-reaching village, at Dong Van district, Ha Giang province that shares a borderline with the neighboring country China. The patient has three older brothers working in China.
On April 7, she displayed symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath and was taken to Dong Van District General Hospital.
Of the total 268 infection cases in Vietnam, 160 are imported ones (59.7%) and 108 community-transmitted cases.
As many as 171 patients have been cleared of the virus and no fatality has been reported so far.
Up to 68,049 people have been quarantined in Vietnam, including 471 at hospitals; 11,413 at quarantine camps; and the rest of 56,165 at places of residence.
The ministry also reported that three patients have in critical conditions and required intensive treatments.
Out of the current 97 active cases, 23 received negative tests for the first time. Ten others got negative tests for the second time.
