Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc acknowledged the press’ role in capturing Ha Noi’s growth progress and building the image of a dynamic capital city.

She expected the news agencies to continue covering the local political and socio-economic affairs as well as reflecting the voice of the city’s residents, organisations and businesses, which could be conducive to its policy making and management.

Participating journalists took note of the city’s prompt disclosure of pressing issues, but urged local authorities to be more open to the public.

Previously, as the press day came closer, leaders from the municipal Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee visited and congratulated journalists at the Vietnam News Agency, the Voice of Vietnam, and People’s Army Newspaper, among others.
