WVR - On the morning of February 6, General Secretary To Lam and a high-ranking delegation from the Party and State of Vietnam arrived in Phnom Penh, commencing a state visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Accompanying General Secretary To Lam on this visit were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. Following an official welcoming ceremony at the Royal Palace, General Secretary To Lam met with Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

During the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen warmly welcomed and highly appreciated General Secretary To Lam leading the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to Cambodia right after the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He emphasized that the visit reflects the importance the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vietnamese leaders place on the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Congratulating the success of the 14th Congress and General Secretary To Lam's re-election, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed confidence that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, the Vietnamese people will continue to achieve great accomplishments and successfully meet the Party's goals, contributing to regional and global development. He affirmed that Cambodia always values and seeks to continuously strengthen and develop its good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Vietnam. Samdech Techo Hun Sen praised Vietnam's socio-economic development and expressed a desire for both sides to continue opening markets to connect the two economies.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure at returning to visit the beautiful country of Cambodia right after the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He highlighted the participation of many of Vietnam's highest leaders, including the Prime Minister and the National Assembly Chairman, in the visit. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the warm, friendly, and thoughtful reception from the Cambodian Royal Family and people, which vividly demonstrates the solidarity, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations and peoples.

Praising the significant achievements of the Cambodian people in recent years, the General Secretary expressed confidence that under the wise reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the Senate, National Assembly, and Government, and the unity of the people, the Kingdom of Cambodia will continue to thrive, with the people's lives continuously improving, building a successful nation of peace, harmony, cooperation, and sustainable development.

Sharing with Samdech Techo Hun Sen about Vietnam's situation and the 14th Congress, the General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam's achievements are supported by valuable international friends, especially neighboring countries, including Cambodia. He expressed gratitude for the sincere support and assistance from the late King Norodom Sihanouk, Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, King Norodom Sihamoni, and generations of Cambodian leaders and people for Vietnam in its past struggle for independence and current nation-building and defense.

Both sides also informed each other about their development goals and directions to coordinate and develop Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

Also on the morning of February 6, General Secretary To Lam visited Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk at the Royal Palace.

The General Secretary expressed his honor to return to visit the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni. He sincerely thanked the Queen Mother for taking the time to meet the delegation and wished her good health and continued significant contributions to the prosperity of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the friendship between the two peoples.

The General Secretary expressed deep impressions of the achievements of the Cambodian people in recent years, affirming that for the Vietnamese people, the images of the late King Norodom Sihanouk, Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, and King Norodom Sihamoni are always noble symbols of the Vietnam-Cambodia friendship.

On behalf of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, the General Secretary sincerely thanked the Cambodian Royal Family and people for their noble sentiments and invaluable assistance to Vietnam throughout history and today.

Informing about the success of the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the General Secretary affirmed Vietnam's steadfast commitment to rapid, sustainable, independent, and autonomous development, linked with deep, effective international integration.

The Queen Mother and the General Secretary reminisced about nearly 60 years of bilateral relations, agreeing to further deepen the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability for the benefit of the peoples of both countries and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam extended a cordial invitation to Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk and King Norodom Sihamoni to visit and relax in Vietnam at a suitable time.
