General Secretary To Lam and spouse depart Vientiane, concluding state visit to Laos

WVR - On the evening of October 2, General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, departed Vientiane, successfully concluding the state visit to Laos and attending the 50th National Day celebration of Laos.

During the visit, General Secretary To Lam engaged in numerous significant activities. Notably, he and his spouse attended the official welcoming ceremony hosted by General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and his spouse, with the highest protocol reserved for heads of state. General Secretary To Lam held talks with General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith; met with Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone; and Chairman of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane.

In these meetings, General Secretary To Lam and Lao leaders extensively discussed the situation in each country and agreed to further enhance bilateral cooperation in the coming period.

General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary, President Thongloun Sisoulith agreed to deepen bilateral relations by introducing new dimensions: “Great Friendship, Special Solidarity, Comprehensive Cooperation, Strategic Connectivity”. This affirms a shared vision, intertwined strategic interests, and a long-term partnership for sustainable development, resilience, and mutual prosperity of the two nations.

Lao Party, State, and National Assembly leaders affirmed that regardless of how situations evolve, the great relationship and solidarity with Vietnam remain unchanged.

As part of the visit, General Secretary To Lam visited the Lao National Academy of Politics and Administration and delivered a policy speech on the theme: Inheriting the great friendship, fostering special solidarity, strengthening comprehensive cooperation, and enhancing strategic connectivity between Vietnam and Laos in the new era.

General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary, President Thongloun Sisoulith inaugurated the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park in the capital Vientiane. He also attended the 50th National Day celebration of Laos.

Notably, during the visit, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary, President Thongloun Sisoulith co-chaired the high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

This is the highest cooperation mechanism, playing a crucial role in guiding and deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connectivity between Vietnam and Laos, bringing practical benefits to the people of both nations and contributing to regional and global peace, security, and prosperity.

During General Secretary To Lam's state visit to Laos, both sides exchanged 12 important cooperation documents among ministries, sectors, localities, and relevant agencies of the two countries in key areas such as defense, security, health, justice, education and training, finance and banking, strategic infrastructure, creating a legal foundation and new momentum for further deepening and effective Vietnam-Laos cooperation in the new phase.
