Four Vietnamese nationals found dead in Bangkok hotel, Spokesperson updated

WVR - Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is urgently coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security to verify the identities of the victims, Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said on July 17.

In response to a reporter’s question regarding the incident where six people were killed at a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, on the evening of July 16, 2024, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pham Thu Hang, stated:

According to the latest information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, the Thai authorities have reported that four of the six deceased are Vietnamese citizens.

Following the directives of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand continues to closely coordinate with local authorities to monitor and clarify the causes of the incident, provide necessary information for the investigation, coordinate with domestic agencies to inform the victims’ families, and guide them through the funeral procedures as well as implement necessary citizen protection measures. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is urgently coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security to verify the identities of the victims.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and hope that the families of the victims will soon overcome this great loss.”, said Hang.
