If the photo book “50 Years of Vietnam’s Strength” portrays the devoted participation of officers and soldiers during the A50 journey, then “Peaceful City - Our City” reflects photographer Nguyen A’s deep affection for his beloved land.
The event marked the culmination of a dedicated creative journey by Nguyen A, who has tirelessly and quietly pursued his mission of capturing authentic moments of Vietnamese people amidst the flow of history and the rhythms of contemporary urban life.
The book “50 Years of Vietnam’s Strength” was completed over several months, documenting the training and participation of soldiers in the parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (30 April 1975 - 30 April 2025), recently held in Ho Chi Minh City.
The collection serves as a valuable visual archive, highlighting the devotion and sense of duty of officers and soldiers during the profoundly moving A50 commemorative journey.

Sharing about the process, Nguyen A revealed the hardships he faced: sleepless nights, days spent working in the streets and countless hours following rehearsals and drills. He aimed to immortalise historic moments and memorable images from a landmark celebration of the nation’s history. He accompanied the marching contingents through the city’s streets to capture unique perspectives, determined not to miss the heroic spirit embodied by a new generation carrying forward the proud traditions of their forebears.
For “Peaceful City - Our City”, Nguyen A turned his lens towards Ho Chi Minh City, the place where he was born and raised. His deep affection for the city inspired him to explore widely, meeting people and recording its many faces. The book presents over 50 stories that transcend mere images, offering instead the vitality and essence of the city. Through his high-quality works, Nguyen A provides a different lens on Ho Chi Minh City, not only a bustling metropolis but also a vibrant, harmonious community where people remain deeply connected to their living environment.
According to the photographer, both books represent his heartfelt dedication. Launching them simultaneously was also his way of expressing gratitude to the city he loves. While “50 Years of Vietnam’s Strength” carries an epic spirit, “Peaceful City - Our City” conveys aspiration, a Ho Chi Minh City that is modernising each day while retaining its warmth and friendliness.
Nguyen A hopes that his book will share with the public a message of peace - of a city rising confidently in a new era, where each citizen, through a positive way of life, contributes to building a truly liveable city.
The exhibition features 100 outstanding photographs selected from the two publications. They stand as poignant snapshots of the spirit, determination, and quiet dedication of generations of Vietnamese people. The exhibition will remain open to visitors until 12 August.
