Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang congratulated Jennifer Wicks on her appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, expressing confidence that with her extensive experience in the U.S. Government, the Ambassador will have a successful term, contributing positively to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States in a stable, substantive, and effective manner.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam considers the United States one of its foremost important partners, noting that the relationship between the two countries has a solid foundation and ample room for further development.
The Deputy Minister suggested that the Ambassador act as a bridge, closely coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese agencies to promote delegation exchanges and high-level contacts; enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation; and expand collaboration in science and technology and other potential areas.
The Deputy Minister expressed hope that the United States will support Vietnam in successfully organizing the APEC Year 2027, actively coordinating to implement Vietnam's priorities and initiatives; and expressed a hope to welcome President Donald Trump to attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Vietnam.

Ambassador Jennifer Wicks thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang for taking the time to meet; shared the honor of presenting her credentials and paying courtesy calls to General Secretary, President To Lam, and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung in the early days of her term. The Ambassador assessed that U.S.–Vietnam relations are in a favorable development phase, with a solid foundation and great potential for expanded cooperation; affirming that the United States values the comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam.
The Ambassador stated she will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant Vietnamese agencies, acting as a bridge to promote exchanges, high-level contacts, and effectively implement prioritized cooperation areas, thereby contributing to the increasingly substantive, effective, and mutually beneficial development of bilateral relations.
Both sides agreed to continue close coordination to effectively implement the comprehensive strategic partnership framework between Vietnam and the United States. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed hope that, based on her work experience and leadership, Ambassador Jennifer Wicks will have the opportunity to share her experiences and leadership skills with female Vietnamese diplomats, thereby enhancing exchanges and connections between women of the two countries.
