During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Vu congratulated Ambassador Ito Naoki on his appointment by the Japanese Government as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam. This appointment comes at a significant time as the two countries have recently upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and successfully organized activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2023.

High-level exchanges and visits continue to occur frequently, with economic cooperation remaining a primary pillar. Deputy Minister Vu expressed confidence that Ambassador Ito Naoki, with his extensive experience and understanding of Vietnam from his long tenure at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will effectively fulfill his role as a policy advocate and an important bridge in the relationship between the two countries.
