FM Bui Thanh Son presents Commemorative Medal to Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio

At their meeting, Foreign Minister Son assessed that during the past 4-year term of Ambassador Yamada Takio, bilateral relations have grown well in all fields with outstanding achievements.
Firstly, political trust has been enhanced as both countries upgraded the framework of their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World. High-level exchanges and contacts occur regularly.
Secondly, economic, trade, investment, and labour cooperation swiftly recovered after the COVID-19 pandemic and continued to deepen and become more effective. Bilateral cooperation has expanded into new areas such as green and digital transformation.
Thirdly, people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation have become increasingly closer.
Fourthly, the two countries continue to coordinate closely and support each other on regional and international issues.

Minister Bui Thanh Son acknowledges and highly appreciates Ambassador Yamada Takio's sentiment, efforts, and contributions to enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
Warmly congratulated Ambassador Yamada Takio on being awarded the Friendship Order, the Commemorative Medal “For the cause of Vietnam’s foreign affairs”, and many other forms of commendation from Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities, the Foreign Minister believes that these prestigious awards recognize Ambassador Yamada Takio's contributions to the development of bilateral relations in recent times.
Foreign Minister Son hoped that in the coming time, Ambassador Yamada Takio, with his experience, understanding, and affection for Vietnam, will continue to contribute to the Vietnam-Japan relations in such fields as economy, investment, human resources training, people-to-people and locality-to-locality exchanges, and tourism.

For his part, Ambassador Yamada Takio thanked the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam for supporting and closely coordinating with the Japanese Embassy over the past four years in the context of many new and complicated developments in the world and region, especially the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Yamada shares feelings of pride in contributing efforts to the strong development and notable achievements of bilateral relations; successfully coordinating numerous visits by the Japanese Royal family, high-level leaders of both countries, as well as elevating the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World, and organizing over 500 activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2023.

Recognizing the longstanding history of cultural exchanges and similarities between the two countries as the foundation for sustainable development of bilateral relations in the future, Ambassador Yamada Takio said that Vietnam has become Japan's leading important and reliable partner in the region in terms of politics, security, economics, labor cooperation, etc.

The Ambassador affirmed that in any positions he holds in the coming time, he will continue to promote the bilateral friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
