Deputy FM Le Thi Thu Hang welcomes delegation from the Press Department, Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs
WVR - On the morning of December 15, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang received Bounthala Panyavichith, Director General of the Press Department and Spokesperson of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the delegation from the Press Department, during their visit to Vietnam.

Warmly welcoming the delegation from the Press Department, Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Vietnam, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that the visit takes place in a highly significant context for the relations between the two countries, especially following the visits of high-level leaders from both countries. She noted that the coordination and cooperation between the Press and Information Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Press Department of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been very close and effective. The visit is an opportunity for both units to exchange, interact, and learn practical experiences from each other, thereby setting out substantial and breakthrough cooperation directions in external information and communication in the new situation.
Based on the newly supplemented 16-word golden motto of Vietnam-Laos relations, "Great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic connection", the year 2026 will witness many important political events in each country and between the two countries, especially the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang suggested that both units continue to uphold tradition, maintain close coordination, and support each other in external information and communication work. At the same time, they should continuously innovate in thinking and methods to meet the demands of the new situation, focusing on enhancing human resources and technical infrastructure. She emphasized that Vietnam always accompanies and supports Laos in implementing external information work.

Director General of the Press Department, Spokesperson of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bounthala Panyavichith expressed gratitude for the warm and cordial reception from colleagues at the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He warmly congratulated Vietnam on its comprehensive development achievements in recent times and affirmed that the coordination mechanism between the Press Department of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Press and Information Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been maintained over many years. This reflects the importance both countries place on the Laos-Vietnam brotherly friendship and solidarity, as well as the relationship between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the two units.
Director General Bounthala Panyavichith hopes that through this visit and working session in Vietnam, the delegation from the Press Department, Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs will learn many practical experiences from their Vietnamese colleagues in external information and press work, particularly regarding legal frameworks, and the development and operation of the Ministry's social media ecosystem.
