Coast Guard Command present gifts to people in Phu Quy Island District

The Coast Guard Command, in coordination with the Military Radio and Television Centre, organised the “Frontier Autumn Moon” programme for local children, on the occasion of the Full Moon.

A delegation from the Vietnam Coast Guard Command led by Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, visited and presented gifts to the authorities, military forces and local people in Phu Quy Island District of Binh Thuan Province on September 21.

The delegation gave gifts to the Phu Quy District Party Committee, People’s Committee, District Military Command, District police, Phu Quy Border Gate Guard Station, Radar Station 575 (Regiment 45, the Navy Region 4), and Radar Station 55 (Regiment 292, the Air Defence - Air Force).

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai expressed his joy in meeting with local leaders and people in the island district.

He congratulated the results that Binh Thuan Province and Phu Quy Island District, in particular, have achieved in recent years, including efforts and contributions of the armed forces stationed on the island.

He also spoke about tasks and some outstanding activities of the Coast Guard in recent times, including the dissemination of legal regulations for fishermen and the support for fishermen to improve their lives in island areas.

In addition, the Coast Guard Command, in coordination with the Military Radio and Television Centre, organised the “Frontier Autumn Moon” programme for local children, on the occasion of the Full Moon. At the programme, hundreds of gifts and scholarships were handed over to local children.

The delegation also presented gifts to two policy beneficiary families and national flags to local fishermen.
