On November 28, the Coast Guard Command and Hong Ha Shipbuilding Company Limited (under the General Department of Defense Industry) held a conference to sign the shipbuilding contract of the 10th boat under the building project for high-speed patrol boat type TT-400 of the Coast Guard Command in Hanoi.
Attending the signing ceremony was Major General Le Quang Dao - Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, representing the investor who chaired the conference. The contractor's representative was Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Tuan - Director of Hong Ha Shipbuilding One Member Company Limited and delegates representing the authorities of both sides.
The two sides discussed the terms and signed a Minute of Contract for building a new high-speed patrol boat TT-400 No. 10, ensuring compliance with prescribed procedures.
TT-400 is a boat capable of operating offshore for long days at sea, with good wind and wave endurance. In particular, with a high speed of over 34 knots/hour, flexible turning features and high stability, the TT-400 participates very effectively in mission of patrol, inspection and control, search and rescue, training, international cooperation and protection of the country's island sovereignty.
The newly signed contract has important political significance while at the 6th session, the National Assembly discussed the Law on National Defense, Security and Industrial Mobilization, aiming to develop specific policies and dual use in developing Vietnam's defense industry.
This event not only marks a new development step for the Coast Guard's ship force but once again affirms the capacity and experience of the military shipbuilders, showing the development of Vietnam's defense industry to meet the requirements of building defense and security industrial potential in the direction of self-reliance, self-reliance, modernity and dual use in the new situation.Up to now, Hong Ha Shipbuilding Company Limited is one of the only two shipbuilders in Vietnam to successfully provide high-tech combat ships and at the same time actively participates in the field of shipbuilding for domestic and export economic sectors.
