Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Member of the 14th PartyCentral Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman and CEO of the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel), is running for the 16th National Assembly delegate at electoral unit No. 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, which includes wards: Tay Nam, Long Nguyen, Chanh Phu Hoa, Thoi Hoa, Hoa Loi, Ben Cat, Binh Co, Tan Uyen and communes: Minh Thanh, Dau Tieng, Long Hoa, Thanh An, Tru Van Tho, Bau Bang, An Long, Phu Giao, Phuoc Hoa, Phuoc Thanh, Bac Tan Uyen, Thuong Tan.
In his action program for the 16th National Assembly candidacy, Tao Duc Thang clearly states his steadfast commitment to the goal of national independence linked with socialism. He is loyal to the nation, the people, and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He is committed to studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh. He maintains discipline, integrity, and transparency in fulfilling his responsibilities; and is determined to combat corruption, negativity, and wastefulness.
He aims to effectively implement the resolutions of the 14th Central Committee, especially breakthrough resolutions on the development of Science-Technology, innovation, digital transformation, and institutional perfection, to serve and rapidly and sustainably develop the country.
Tao Duc Thang promises to fully fulfill the responsibilities of a National Assembly delegate, genuinely representing the will, aspirations, and sovereignty of the people. He aims to contribute to enhancing the quality of legislative activities, supreme supervision, and decision-making on important national issues. He will maintain regular, close contact with constituents; listen, absorb, and be accountable to the people. He intends to make practical contributions to the development of Ho Chi Minh City – the economic, financial, and science-technology hub of the nation.
If elected as a 16th National Assembly delegate, Tao Duc Thang outlines clear responsibilities in his action plan:
- Effectively oversee the adherence to the Constitution and laws, promptly proposing solutions to resolve issues affecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people. He will proactively research and contribute opinions to build and perfect the legal system, especially laws related to economic development, science-technology, digital transformation, and national defense-security.
- Propose solutions to develop smart models and digital transformation in healthcare, education, and public administration, contributing to improving service quality for the people. He will enhance programs connecting businesses with universities and research institutes, supporting job transitions, and increasing sustainable income for urban residents.
- Leverage his experience in managing and operating a key state enterprise in technology and defense to contribute to major policy decisions, serving national interests and the people's livelihood.
