Celebration of the 59th ASEAN Day in Athens, Greece
On August 7, the ASEAN Committee in Greece (ACAT) organized a celebration for the 59th ASEAN Day, attended by Ambassadors, Chargés d'affaires, and staff from the embassies of four ASEAN countries in Greece, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The event was also attended by representatives from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, representatives from ASEAN Dialogue Partner countries, and friends in Greece.

Speaking at the celebration, Thai Ambassador Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhy, the current rotating chair of ACAT, emphasized that August 8, 1967, marked the significant formation of ASEAN with a commitment to unity in friendship and cooperation, ensuring peace, freedom, and prosperity for the people in the region and future generations through joint efforts.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dimitris Skakos, Director General for International Economic Affairs at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, congratulated ASEAN countries on ASEAN Day. He affirmed that Greece values and wishes to further develop ASEAN-Greece and ASEAN-EU relations, effectively leveraging economic and trade agreements between the two sides to bring common benefits and prosperity to the people in the region.

The activities of the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece on ASEAN Day demonstrate Vietnam's responsibility and contribution to building the common ASEAN home and further spreading the image of Vietnam through Vietnamese-flavored dishes to officials, friends, and the diplomatic corps in the area.
