Celebration of 81st anniversary of Vietnam's National Day held in Egypt

The celebration was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ambassador Mohamed Abou Bakr Saleh, ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions from various countries, scholars, experts, Egyptian and international friends, along with staff from the Vietnamese Embassy in Cairo and the Vietnamese Representative Missions in Egypt.

In his speech at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Nam Duong highlighted Vietnam's developmental achievements in recent years. He stated that Vietnam's economy continues its growth momentum in 2026, driven by innovation, industrial transformation, and increasingly deep global partnerships.
Vietnam is aiming for high economic growth, nearing double digits this year, based on the development of digital technology, semiconductor manufacturing, renewable energy, and green transformation.

Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong affirmed that Egypt holds a particularly important position in the history of Vietnam-Egypt relations, being one of the first Arab countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam over six decades ago.
The elevation of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Partnership during the Vietnamese President's visit to Cairo in 2025 has opened a new chapter in bilateral relations.
According to the Ambassador, the Vietnam-Egypt Comprehensive Partnership is expanding across various fields, including trade, agriculture, renewable energy, and the localization of industrial production.
The two countries are working towards building a foundation for a dynamic economic future, based on the spirit of South-South cooperation.
On the Egyptian side, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Abou Bakr Saleh affirmed that the relationship between the two countries has a solid historical foundation, based on mutual respect, trust, and coordination at international forums.

He noted that the elevation of relations to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2025 reflects the political will of both sides to expand cooperation and elevate bilateral relations to a new level.
Deputy Minister Mohamed Abou Bakr Saleh emphasized that trade, investment, and tourism are the main drivers of cooperation between the two countries. Egypt aims to leverage its geopolitical position as a gateway to African and Arab markets, while Vietnam plays an important economic role in Southeast Asia.
The two countries are also promoting cooperation in industrial production, agriculture, aquaculture, renewable energy, and technology, while encouraging joint ventures to form common value chains.
According to Ambassador Mohamed Abou Bakr Saleh, the two countries are also preparing to organize activities such as the 11th Political Consultation, coordinating the 6th Intergovernmental Committee meeting in Cairo, and preparing for the 3rd Joint Committee meeting on Trade and Industry.
Assessing Vietnam, Dr. Ahmed Tarabeik, an Asian researcher, expressed his admiration for Vietnam's developmental achievements and is confident that Vietnam will continue to make new strides in the future.
Meanwhile, former Egyptian Ambassador to Vietnam, now Chairman of the Egyptian Library Foundation, Reda Al Taify, emphasized that after 40 years of Doi Moi, Vietnam has achieved comprehensive, historically and strategically significant achievements in socio-economic, security-defense, and foreign affairs, laying the foundation for rapid and sustainable development in the coming period.

Within the framework of the event, images of Vietnam's land, people, and developmental achievements were showcased, attracting interest and high appreciation from local and international guests.
