On the afternoon of January 14, former Lieutenant Colonel Ramli Hadis, Chairman of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Veterans Association (VARBAF), along with representatives from the VARBAF Business Center, visited the Embassy and delivered a congratulatory letter to Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association. They also extended congratulations to the Government, the people of Vietnam, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei on the occasion of the upcoming 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Lieutenant Colonel Ramli Hadis and VARBAF delegates expressed their respect and appreciation for Vietnam's historical achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, particularly in enhancing the resilience of the economy and achieving a growth target of over 8% by 2025, while firmly strengthening national defense and security capabilities. The VARBAF Chairman emphasized that the 14th Congress marks a historic milestone for Vietnam, ushering the country into a new development phase with strategic directions towards the development goals for 2030 and 2045.

On this occasion, VARBAF highly valued the significance and positive development of the Vietnam-Brunei Comprehensive Partnership, especially in defense – security and economic cooperation. VARBAF delegates and the Brunei Veterans Business Center expressed their admiration for the dynamism of Vietnamese veteran enterprises in contributing to the country's socio-economic development. They expressed a desire to continue collaborating with the Vietnam Veterans Association to promote the establishment of an ASEAN Veterans Business Center network and explore the possibility of establishing a Halal economic zone in Vietnam.
In anticipation of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei has intensified information dissemination, meetings with the local Vietnamese community. Members of the Community Liaison Board and representatives of the Vietnamese community and businesses in Brunei expressed excitement and confidence that the Congress will be successful, setting important directions to realize the potential and development opportunities, leading the country into a new era of prosperous development.

Recently, on behalf of the Community Liaison Board, Dr. Tran Trong Nghia, a Vietnamese language lecturer at the University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD), delivered a congratulatory letter from the Community Liaison Board to the Embassy regarding the organization of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Members of the Liaison Board and some representatives of the Vietnamese community in the area have actively contributed their opinions to the draft documents of the Congress, especially concerning issues related to overseas Vietnamese affairs and the development of an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity.
