ASEAN+3 and EAS play important role in regional cooperation structure
On August 1, the ASEAN+3 Senior Officials' Meeting (with China, Japan and South Korea) and the Senior Officials' Meeting of the East Asia Summit (EAS) with 8 partners (including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Russia and Canada) took place in Singapore to discuss the preparations for the 19th ASEAN+3 Foreign Ministers' Meeting and the 8th East Asia Summit on August 5.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung, Head of SOM ASEAN – Vietnam, led the Vietnamese delegation to attend the meetings.

Speaking at the conferences, Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung affirmed Vietnam’s commitments to contribute to promoting the process of ASEAN+3 and EAS, expected the partners to continue supporting the ASEAN’s centrality and jointly consolidating an open, transparent and rule-based regional architecture for peace, stability and development in the region.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vietnam actively supports and promotes priority cooperation areas of ASEAN+3 and EAS, closely exchanges with other countries to contribute to the success of this ASEAN+3 Foreign Ministers' Meeting and EAS.
