AMM59: Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung receives Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
WVR - On July 24, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung met with Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and related conferences.

On this occasion, Minister Le Hoai Trung once again conveyed the deepest condolences from Vietnam's senior leaders and himself to the State, Royal Family, and people of Qatar on the passing of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He affirmed that Vietnam always cherishes the good sentiments and significant contributions of the former Emir to the friendly relations between the two countries.
Discussing bilateral relations, both sides agreed to coordinate in promoting high-level visits and interactions at all levels to create further momentum for the bilateral relationship. They also concurred on expanding investment projects and continuing to promote cooperation areas that align with each country's potential, strengths, and development needs.
The two sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East region. Minister of State Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi shared the difficulties, damages, and severe impacts caused by prolonged conflicts on the countries and people in the region.
Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed deep sympathy, emphasizing that Vietnam, with its experience of having endured decades of war, always understands the value of peace, stability, dialogue, and cooperation. He expressed the hope that disagreements would be resolved peacefully, based on international law, for the benefit of the people in the region and the international community. He also appreciated Qatar's mediating role and responsible actions in helping to ease tensions, promote dialogue, and seek peaceful solutions.
