Strengthening solidarity between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the CCM Party
During a bilateral meeting and courtesy call at the Political and International Relations Department of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Party – Tanzania's ruling party – at its Headquarters in the capital Dodoma, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen conveyed warm greetings of solidarity and friendship from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam to the leadership of the CCM Party. She also expressed thanks for the close cooperation between the Political and International Relations Department and the Embassy over the past years. The Ambassador highly appreciated the resilient leadership of the CCM Party in maintaining political stability and driving robust economic growth in Tanzania.

On this occasion, the Ambassador affirmed the decisive role of political orientation by both Parties in paving the way for deeper cooperation between the two countries' businesses. The most vivid demonstration is the Halotel joint venture (Viettel Tanzania), which has been contributing actively to the host country's telecommunications infrastructure and social welfare. Joining the meeting, Ms. Thuy Dung, Deputy General Director representing Halotel’s leadership, expressed the desire to provide technological support and modernize the telecommunications system for the CCM Central Office in Dodoma, thereby enhancing operational safety and efficiency in the digital era.

On behalf of the Political Affairs and International Relations Department of the CCM Party, Mr. Pascal Masalu, Principal Secretary for Political Affairs and International Relations, expressed his great honor to welcome Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen and the delegation.

He affirmed that Vietnam has always been a trusted traditional friend of Tanzania and highly appreciated Halotel's substantive contributions to local development. He also warmly welcomed Halotel's proposal to provide technological support for the CCM Central Office.
Looking to the future, Mr. Pascal Masalu expressed his desire for both sides to actively promote high-level delegation exchanges and enhance the sharing of experience in Party building, aiming to bring bilateral cooperation into depth and achieve greater efficiency.

Also on June 19, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen held an extensive working session with Ms. Felista Rugambwa, Director of the Department of Asia and Australasia under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tanzania.

During the meeting, the Tanzanian side affirmed its desire to promote higher education cooperation, viewing the connection between the University of Dar es Salaam and Vietnamese universities as a lever to boost human resource development and innovation. Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen fully agreed and personally committed to acting as a bridge to foster this academic linkage.

The Embassy of Vietnam will actively coordinate with the diplomatic corps to closely accompany Tanzania in this historic transition.

Another key focus of the meeting was the preparations for the Second Session of the Vietnam–Tanzania Joint Committee, scheduled for September 2026, aimed at expanding economic opportunities in agriculture, fisheries, telecommunications, and investment. Both sides committed to collaborating closely to accelerate the signing of draft agreements and memoranda of understanding on irrigation, technology, and education.
