Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep works with Embassy of Vietnam in Tanzania
WVR - As part of the delegation’s working visit to Tanzania for the second session of the Vietnam-Tanzania Intergovernmental Committee, on September 22, the Vietnamese Sub-Committee delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Chairman of the Vietnamese Sub-Committee, paid a visit to and held a working session with the staff of the Embassy of Vietnam in Tanzania.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were Vietnamese Ambassador to Tanzania Vu Thanh Huyen and the embassy staff, along with representatives of the business community in the area.
Before commencing the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep and Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen, along with all members of the inter-ministerial delegation, solemnly organized a ceremony to offer incense and flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room within the embassy premises.
This is the first cultural project built to commemorate the great leader of the Vietnamese nation in the traditional East African region.
In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, before the spirit of the Leader, the Deputy Minister and the delegation expressed their gratitude for the great contributions of Uncle Ho – who, along with the late President Julius Nyerere, laid a solid foundation for the deep, faithful friendship between the two countries, Vietnam and Tanzania.

At the subsequent meeting, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen reported to the Deputy Minister and the delegation on the activities of the embassy, citizen protection work, support for the Vietnamese community, as well as efforts to promote economic and cultural diplomacy in recent times.
The Ambassador emphasized that the 2nd session of the Intergovernmental Committee (held from September 21-25) is a diplomatic event with significant political content and meaning since the first session. The presence of high-level leaders and the Vietnamese Sub-Committee has provided strong motivation for the Representative Mission and the Vietnamese business community to confidently develop in the promising East African market.
In his directive speech at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep highly appreciated and praised the extraordinary efforts of the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania in overcoming local difficulties and effectively serving as a sustainable diplomatic bridge.
In particular, the Deputy Minister warmly praised and highly appreciated the unique and dedicated initiative of the embassy in completing the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room at the site.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that this is not only a profound traditional revolutionary education space for future generations of foreign affairs officers and the overseas Vietnamese community in East Africa but also a highly meaningful cultural diplomacy symbol, contributing to spreading the thoughts and character of President Ho Chi Minh to local international friends.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep affirmed that most African countries, in general, and Tanzania, in particular, are economies centered on agriculture. Therefore, Vietnam's agriculture sector always identifies its leading role, laying the foundational bricks to build a bridge connecting bilateral relations and paving the way for comprehensive economic-investment cooperation to follow.

The Deputy Minister requested that in the coming time, the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania should continue to strongly promote its role as the official representative agency, closely accompanying to protect the legitimate rights and resolve policy and mechanism difficulties for Vietnam's key enterprises in the area such as Viettel Group (Halotel), Vingroup, Intimex, Phulimex.
In particular, it is necessary to closely coordinate with the Sub-Committee to decisively implement the commitments, contents of the Agreed Minutes, and the 5-year Action Plan immediately after signing, bringing bilateral economic cooperation to a deeper, more substantive, and effective level on the ground.
On behalf of the Representative Mission, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen sincerely thanked the deep concern of the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment leadership.
The Ambassador affirmed that the embassy will always be a reliable common home, standing side by side with agencies, delegations, and businesses to overcome challenges, excellently completing economic-diplomatic tasks, and promoting the traditional good friendship between the two countries to become increasingly stronger.
The meeting took place in a warm, friendly, and highly united atmosphere.
