At the solemn ceremony held at the Governor-General's Residence, Ambassador Le Quang Long conveyed President Luong Cuong's greetings and congratulations to Governor-General Marcella Liburd and the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis. He affirmed that Vietnam values and seeks to enhance its multifaceted friendship and cooperation with Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Following the credential presentation, the Ambassador had meetings with Prime Minister Terrance Drew and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kaye Bass.
During the meeting with Prime Minister Terrance Drew, the Ambassador conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Both sides discussed measures to strengthen cooperation in the coming period, especially in agriculture. The Ambassador emphasized Vietnam's readiness to share experiences and encourage businesses from both countries to collaborate in investment, production, and export of agricultural products, including rice – a key Vietnamese export.
In discussions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Ambassador Le Quang Long and Permanent Secretary Kaye Bass agreed to promote practical cooperation mechanisms, such as proposing to the leaders of both countries to expand cooperation and technical exchanges in agriculture, tourism, renewable energy, and geothermal energy. They also discussed enhancing people-to-people exchanges and offering scholarships to students.
On this occasion, Ambassador Le Quang Long expressed his deep gratitude to the government of Saint Kitts and Nevis for their valuable support for Vietnam's candidacy and election to the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2026-2028 term. He regarded this as a vivid testament to the solidarity and political trust between the two nations.
The meetings and discussions held by Ambassador Le Quang Long during his visit contributed to strengthening the foundation of the friendly relations between Vietnam and Saint Kitts and Nevis, opening up prospects for concrete and substantive cooperation in various fields, aligned with the interests and potential of both countries.
