On May 1, at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Türkiye Dang Thi Thu Ha, presented her Letter of Credence to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha conveyed the warmest regards and best wishes from the Vietnamese Party and State leaders to President Erdogan, his Spouse, and the Turkish people. On this occasion, the Ambassador respectfully extended an invitation to President Erdogan and his Spouse to pay an official visit to Vietnam, aiming to elevate the bilateral relationship to a new level of depth and effectiveness.
President Erdogan extended his greetings to General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and other high-ranking Vietnamese leaders. He fondly recalled Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Türkiye in November 2023, describing it as a historic milestone in bilateral relations.
Congratulating Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha on her appointment, President Erdogan affirmed that this reflects Vietnam’s high regard for its relations with Türkiye. He expressed appreciation for the growing potential of bilateral cooperation in various fields and voiced hope that two-way trade would continue to rise in the coming years.

Highlighting defense cooperation—particularly in the defense industry—as a key area, President Erdogan expressed his hope that both sides would soon conclude agreements in this domain. He also requested Vietnam’s support for Türkiye’s bid to become a Dialogue Partner of ASEAN, reaffirming that Turkish agencies would continue to actively support and promote bilateral ties.
Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha congratulated Türkiye on its significant socio-economic achievements under President Erdogan’s leadership, which have elevated the country’s standing in the region and globally.
She noted the positive and multifaceted development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries, particularly following Prime Minister Chinh’s visit to Türkiye in 2023. Bilateral trade surpassed 3 billion USD in 2024, making Vietnam one of Türkiye’s top trading partners in Southeast Asia.
Currently, over 40 Turkish enterprises are investing in Vietnam. Notably, a Turkish corporation is involved in the construction of Long Thanh International Airport. Turkish Airlines operates two direct flights daily between the two countries.
The Ambassador also emphasized the symbolic significance of Vietnam’s rescue team deployment to assist earthquake victims in Türkiye in 2023 as a vivid demonstration of solidarity and mutual support between the two nations.
Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha affirmed her commitment to closely coordinate with Turkish authorities and exert her utmost efforts to advance the comprehensive and substantive development of bilateral relations in the time ahead.
At the end of the meeting, President Erdogan presented Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha with several books, including two of his own works titled A Fairer World Is Possible and The World Is Bigger Than Five.
