During the meeting, both sides discussed the cooperation between the two countries in various fields and also explored opportunities for media collaboration to further spread information about Vietnam to Türkiye and vice versa, contributing to increasing mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.
In his conversation with Ambassador Korhan Kemik, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son discussed the role of The World and Vietnam Report, the media agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in providing external information and showcasing the image of Vietnam to the world. The publication also introduces important information about other countries, including Türkiye, to Vietnamese readers.
The Editor-in-Chief emphasized that The World and Vietnam Report is ready to cooperate with the Turkish Embassy to share useful information across all fields, especially in economics, culture, education, and tourism. This collaboration aims to promote opportunities for cooperation and exchange between businesses and the people of both countries.
In the past, the World and Vietnam Report has published a number of articles exploring information about the culture, lifestyle, and people of Türkiye, including an article titled 'Airlines Help Diplomacy Soar,' which discusses the importance and 'soft power' of Turkish Airlines in promoting diplomacy, trade, and cultural exchange for Türkiye.
Ambassador Korhan Kemik shared that he greatly admires the remarkable development of Vietnam and that Türkiye aims to elevate its bilateral relationship with Vietnam to a Comprehensive Partnership, opening up new and broader opportunities for cooperation in many fields.
Emphasizing the importance of economic and trade cooperation, Ambassador Korhan Kemik noted that during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Türkiye in early December 2023, the leaders of both countries set a goal to increase bilateral trade to 4 billion USD. 'I believe we will not only achieve this goal but also surpass it, as the potential for cooperation between Türkiye and Vietnam is immense. The two countries have complementary economies. Vietnam is a dynamic economy, a "rising star" in the region,' said Ambassador Korhan Kemik.

Regarding cultural, tourism, and educational cooperation between the two countries, Turkish Airlines currently operates daily flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Istanbul. The airline plans to increase the frequency of flights from 14 to 20 per week this year. Additionally, Ankara offers international scholarships, and several Vietnamese students have already received them. “This is a key factor in bilateral cooperation. If we can increase the number of scholarships, it will benefit both countries in terms of exchanging perspectives and academic expertise,” emphasized the Turkish Ambassador.
Regarding potential collaboration, Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Truong Son suggested that the Embassy could provide information, articles, or participate in interviews and talk shows to expand the sharing of news from Türkiye with Vietnamese readers, as well as bring information about Vietnam to Turkish media and press channels. This would allow the newspaper to introduce more about Türkiye’s land, culture, and people to the Vietnamese audience. In this way, the business community can explore opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the Halal industry, where Türkiye is a significant market in the region
The Turkish Ambassador agreed with the suggestions and proposals put forward by the Editor-in-Chief, affirming his readiness to cooperate with The World and Vietnam Report to promote information exchange. He also emphasized the intention to connect the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press agencies with Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs' policy magazine and designate a focal point to work on specific cooperation opportunities.
