On the afternoon of March 31, in Hanoi, Director General of the Department of State Protocol and Foreign Interpretation Pham Binh Dam received a copy of the Letter of Credentials appointing Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Gillian Bird.

Speaking at the reception, Director General of the Department of State Protocol and Foreign Interpretation Dam congratulated Ms. Gillian Bird on her appointment as Australian Ambassador to Vietnam.

Director General Dam expressed his belief that the Ambassador, with many years of experience working in the diplomatic sector, will continue to promote and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Department of State Protocol and Foreign Interpretation and related units are always ready to cooperate, coordinate and create all conditions for the Ambassador to successfully complete her term of office, the Director General emphasized.

Thanking the Director General of the Department of State Protocol and Foreign Interpretation for taking time to meet her, Ambassador Gillian Bird affirmed that she will actively contribute to the continuous consolidation and development of Vietnam-Australia relations in all fields.
