A meaningful journey for Vietnamese employees working for foreign organizations in Vietnam

WVR - On December 20, Organized by the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps (SDDC) in coordination with the Cao Bang Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs, the meet-and-greet program for Vietnamese employees working for foreign organizations in Vietnam was not only a meaningful journey back to historical roots, but also one that left strong emotions, reflections, and profound spiritual encouragement among participants.

For many participants, especially officials and employees working in an international environment, the program offered a rare opportunity to set foot in the northern frontier of the country, a land closely associated with important milestones in Viet Nam’s revolutionary history. Journalist Pham Bac of the German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) in Vietnam shared that although he has been working in journalism for nearly 20 years, this was his first time taking part in an activity organized by the SDDC.

According to Pham Bac, from the moment he reviewed the program, he sensed its special significance, as not everyone has the chance to visit historic sites in the northern border region. The program was thoughtfully designed, combining sightseeing and exploration of local history and culture with content directly related to SDDC’s professional activities. This harmonious combination created a unique appeal, enabling participants to broaden their knowledge while strengthening professional bonds.

A strong impression shared by many participants was the well-structured and professional organization of the SDDC. Despite the limited preparation time and a delegation of nearly 80 participants, every stage of the program was carried out in a scientific and meticulous manner. “Just reading through the program made me feel excited”, Pham Bac said, expressing his satisfaction with the trip and his wish to continue registering for future programs to gain more opportunities for exchange and learning.

For an international correspondent, each such trip is also an opportunity to accumulate valuable materials, ranging from stories and real-life experiences to beautiful photo collections of Cao Bang’s nature, people, and tourism. According to a DPA representative, although these materials may not immediately be turned into a specific news article, they constitute a “living database” ready to be drawn upon when needed, contributing to the promotion of the locality and of Viet Nam to international audiences.

In addition, the program in Cao Bang also held special political significance for some participants. Le Van Dong, Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam was officially recognized as a Party member during the trip. For him, this was both a great honor and a political responsibility, requiring constant effort and self-discipline.

During his time as a probationary Party member, Le Van Dong was always deeply aware that joining the ranks of the Party is not only a source of pride but also a commitment to political integrity, ethics, lifestyle, and discipline. Working in a diplomatic environment, he clearly understands that every action, word, and professional manner can affect the image and credibility of Viet Nam as well as friendly relations with international partners, including Japan. Compliance with Vietnamese law, respect for diplomatic norms and the culture of host countries, while firmly maintaining the ideological stance of a Party member, is a consistent requirement in his daily work.

In particular, receiving the decision on official Party membership in Cao Bang—a land rich in revolutionary tradition and closely associated with glorious chapters in the history of the Party and the nation—left him with profound and sacred emotions. It was both a source of pride and a reminder to continue striving to live and work in a manner worthy of the revolutionary traditions of previous generations.

Overall, the journey contributed to strengthening bonds within the community of Vietnamese employees working for foreign organizations, reinforcing trust, responsibility, and motivation for each individual to continue making positive contributions to their work and to the image of Viet Nam in the eyes of international friends.
