During the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane and the delegation from the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs visiting Vietnam for the Ministerial-Level Political Consultation. He expressed confidence that the visit would positively contribute to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic ties between Vietnam and Laos.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the delegation's visit holds significant importance, occurring right after the state visit to Laos by General Secretary To Lam and the high-level delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day. It also follows the success of the high-level meeting between the two Parties and the 48th session of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee co-chaired by the Prime Ministers of both countries.
The Prime Minister warmly congratulated Laos on its significant achievements in maintaining political and social stability, ensuring security and defense, as well as economic recovery and development.
These are positive signals, laying the foundation for Laos to gradually overcome financial and economic challenges, successfully organize the 12th National Party Congress, and achieve the goals of the 10th socio-economic development plan.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always values and prioritizes the special Vietnam-Laos relationship, emphasizing that Vietnam will continue to support Laos in building an independent and self-reliant economy and developing high-quality human resources. He also suggested that both sides enhance economic connectivity, coordinate, and share development experiences for the practical benefit of the peoples of both countries.

The Prime Minister welcomed and highly appreciated the increasingly close and effective cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries in implementing cooperation agreements with diverse and practical content, significantly contributing to preserving and developing the special relationship between the two Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that both sides continue to closely coordinate and meticulously prepare for high-level visits by leaders of the two Parties and countries, especially after the successful organization of each Party's Congress.
The Prime Minister urged the two Foreign Ministries to play a pivotal role in promoting, advising, guiding, monitoring, and urging the ministries, sectors, and localities of both sides to seriously and effectively implement the agreements between the high-level leaders of the two Parties, bilateral agreements, as well as the outcomes of the 48th session of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the relevant ministries and sectors of both countries to promptly review cooperation areas, coordinate to resolve issues in key projects, and strive to elevate the bilateral cooperation relationship to a new level, making it increasingly strong, effective, and cohesive.
He suggested that both sides enhance coordination with ASEAN countries, promote solidarity and unity within ASEAN, and strengthen ASEAN's central role in the regional architecture, contributing to peace, cooperation, and development.

Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane thanked the Prime Minister for taking the time to meet the delegation; conveyed the regards of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; expressed sincere gratitude for the Prime Minister's positive remarks about the bilateral relationship; and sincerely thanked Vietnam for its invaluable, selfless friendship and support for Laos during the struggle for independence and in the current efforts to protect and build the nation.
Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane fully agreed with the exchanges of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; reported to the Prime Minister on the outcomes of the 12th Ministerial-Level Political Consultation and affirmed that the two countries will continue to cooperate and closely coordinate on regional and international issues.
