A gathering place of cultural colours from Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups

WVR - From November 18-24, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize the "Great National Unity – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" week in 2025 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi).

This annual cultural event holds profound significance, contributing to honoring the strength of national unity and promoting the values of Vietnamese cultural heritage to international friends, on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).

The program will be attended by leaders from the Party and the State; representatives from various central committees, ministries, and sectors; representatives from embassies and international organizations; leaders of agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives from the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Departments of Culture and Sports; Departments of Tourism from provinces and cities...

Additionally, the event gathers over 200 people from 18 ethnic groups from 12 provinces and cities nationwide such as Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong, Muong, Thai, E De, Khmer, Cham... who will participate in performances, exchanges, and reenactments of their traditional community activities.

The week contributes to preserving, promoting, and spreading the tradition of national unity; honoring the rich cultural heritage of Vietnamese ethnic groups; and organizing meaningful cultural, sports, and tourism exchanges to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23.

Moreover, it affirms that the spirit of national unity is a precious cultural heritage, forged over thousands of years of nation-building and defense, reflecting the enduring value of the close-knit bond among ethnic groups in the mission of building, protecting, and developing the nation, especially in the current era of industrialization and modernization.

Through hands-on traditional cultural experiences with cultural subjects, ethnic culinary exchanges, and more, the "Great National Unity – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" week will vividly and attractively showcase Vietnam's traditional cultural values to international friends, enhancing friendship, demonstrating hospitality, and providing a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture.

Through this, it affirms the richness, diversity, and unity of Vietnamese cultural identity in the context of international integration, contributing to strengthening national pride and raising community awareness about the role in preserving and promoting cultural heritage values in the context of international integration.

Additionally, the program helps spread and promote ethnic cultural identity, preserve, promote, and honor the distinctive cultural identity of 54 ethnic groups; encourage the active participation of the community in transmitting, creating, and applying traditional cultural values in contemporary life, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity.

Notably, the "Great National Unity – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" week in 2025 is also an opportunity to strengthen connections and close coordination between localities and relevant units in preserving, maintaining, and promoting ethnic cultural heritage values; boosting tourism promotion and development activities at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, as well as in many participating localities.

This will attract domestic and international tourists, boost local socio-economic development, and contribute to promoting the image of Vietnam to friends at home and abroad.

The event includes major activities such as the opening ceremony of the week; the second Muong Ethnic Culture Festival; a scientific seminar on "Preserving and Promoting Traditional Cultural Values of Ethnic Minorities in Association with Tourism Development"; a program to promote and introduce Vietnamese culture to international friends at the "Common House"; the national unity festival; and performances, exchanges, and introductions of ethnic cultures.

Through a series of unique cultural activities, the "Great National Unity – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" week in 2025 is not only a convergence of cultural colors from 54 ethnic groups but also a bridge connecting heritage and tourism, bringing traditional cultural values closer to contemporary life, contributing to promoting the image of a culturally rich, hospitable, and integrated Vietnam.
