They are the Vietnam National University (Ha Noi), the Ha Noi University of Science and Technology and the Vietnam National University (Ho Chi Minh City).
Specifically, the Vietnam National University (Ha Noi) ranked first in Vietnam and 201st-250th in the rankings. Meanwhile, the Ha Noi University of Science and Technology was among 251st-300th positions and the Vietnam National University (Ho Chi Minh) stood 401st-500th places.
The annual prestigious rankings of the Times Higher Education magazine evaluate universities in emerging economies that were classified by the Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) as “emerging economies type 1”, “emerging economies type 2” and “marginal economies”.
The 2020 rankings included 533 universities from 47 countries of four continents.
The recognition of three Vietnamese universities marked the efforts made by the country’s educational sector although Vietnam was among marginal economies.
Last year, many Vietnamese universities established high positions in the world’s rankings, especially the Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR).
