Upon hearing the news of the tourist boat accident caused by adverse weather conditions in An Giang Province on July 11, which resulted in numerous casualties among Indian tourists, General Secretary and President To Lam, along with Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, sent condolence messages to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In these messages, the Vietnamese leaders, on behalf of the Party, State, Government, and People of Vietnam, extended their heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to the State and People of India, particularly the families of the victims. They affirmed that Vietnamese authorities have been urgently implementing rescue and relief measures, treating the injured, supporting the victims' families, and closely coordinating with the Indian side to address the aftermath of the incident. Additionally, they are conducting investigations to clarify the cause of the incident.
On the same day, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung also sent a condolence message to Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
