WVR - On January 8 (local time) in Caracas, the Vietnamese Embassy, in collaboration with the Venezuelan Ministry of Information and Communication, organized a press meeting to inform local media about the upcoming 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My emphasized that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, scheduled from January 19-25 in Hanoi, is a significant political event for the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, crucial for the country's development direction in the new phase.
According to the Ambassador, the 14th National Party Congress will comprehensively review and assess 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal) efforts, 35 years of implementing the National Construction Platform during the transition to socialism, and five years of executing the 13th Congress's resolutions. It will also outline the socio-economic development strategy for 2026-2030, setting the vision and goals for national development by 2045, marking the 100th anniversary of the country's founding.

In an open and friendly atmosphere, Ambassador Vu Trung My shared that the achievements of the past term are the result of the solidarity and consensus of the entire Party, people, and military of Vietnam, as well as the valuable support and cooperation of international friends, including the Venezuelan people.
The Ambassador emphasized: “Vietnam always cherishes the steadfast, loyal solidarity that Venezuela has extended to Vietnam throughout difficult historical periods and in the current nation-building and development efforts.”
Discussing the foreign policy outlined in the Congress's draft documents, Ambassador Vu Trung My affirmed that it is a harmonious blend of inheritance and development, maintaining an independent, self-reliant, peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developmental foreign policy; diversifying and multilateralizing foreign relations; prioritizing national interests based on adherence to the United Nations Charter and international law.
Vietnam consistently positions itself as a friend, a reliable partner, and an active, responsible member of the international community, ready to contribute to addressing regional and global issues.

At the meeting, many Venezuelan journalists expressed deep interest in the 14th Congress, viewing it as a particularly significant milestone, ushering in a new phase of Vietnam's development. Questions focused on the notable achievements of the renovation process, economic-social development experiences, and major directions Vietnam is pursuing in the coming period.
Journalist Francia Mata, Director of the media channel Diplomatic News, praised the broad democratic engagement of the Communist Party of Vietnam in preparing for the Congress. She was particularly impressed that nearly 14 million contributions from almost 5 million officials, Party members, and citizens were gathered for the draft documents of the 14th Congress within just one month.
According to her, this clearly demonstrates the democratic nature, open-mindedness, and innovation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as placing people at the center of the development policy-making process.

Concluding the meeting, Venezuelan editors, journalists, and reporters wished the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam great success. They also expressed confidence that the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Partnership between Venezuela and Vietnam will continue to be strengthened and flourish, contributing positively to the development of both nations and enhancing their international standing.
