On June 27–28, as part of the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary, the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, in cooperation with the District 3 authorities of Budapest, held Vietnam Cultural Days.
The event featured a film about 75 years of Vietnam–Hungary relations, an art and photo exhibition, introducing Vietnam’s people, culture, and its achievements after 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal).
Attendees included Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai, the Mayor of District 3, cultural organizations, Vietnamese community members in Budapest, and many Hungarian visitors.
In his opening speech, Ambassador Bui Le Thai said "In the context of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, the Vietnam Cultural Day in District 3 is not only an occasion to honour the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people, but also contributes to enriching the cultural life in Budapest, serving as a bridge of cultural exchange, contributing to strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and solidarity between the people of Vietnam and Hungary."
Ambassador Bui Le Thai expressed his gratitude for the active cooperation of the District 3 authority, and affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Hungary will continue to promote its role as a bridge of friendship, actively contributing to the development of Hungary as well as to the Vietnam-Hungary Comprehensive Partnership.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Kiss László, Mayor of District 3, praised the initiative of organizing Vietnam Cultural Day in the district. He affirmed that the District 3 leadership fully supports and is ready to cooperate with the Vietnamese Embassy in organizing cultural exchange activities for the Vietnamese community. These events help enrich local cultural life, promote people-to-people exchange, and strengthen the friendship between Vietnam and Hungary.
Mayor Kiss László also proposed deepening the sister-city relationship between District 3 and Son Tay Town in Vietnam.
He emphasized that District 3 will continue to support the Vietnamese community in better integrating and contributing to the district’s development.
A highlight of the event was the exhibition of paintings, photos, and video clips showcasing 75 years of Vietnam–Hungary relations. The exhibition featured vivid images of high-level visits, Vietnam’s people and culture, unique cultural heritages, and the country’s remarkable achievements after more than 40 years of renovation.
The exhibition helped Hungarian friends gain a deeper understanding of the two countries' shared history and of a peaceful, dynamic, and increasingly globally integrated Vietnam.
In addition, a booth displaying Vietnamese agricultural export products—such as cashew nuts, pepper, coffee, tea, and traditional spices—attracted significant attention from visitors. These high-quality products are increasingly gaining recognition in Hungary and across Europe.
The Vietnamese food corner with traditional dishes and performances of folk music and dance offered visitors a unique cultural experience, promoting Vietnamese culture, people, and cuisine to Hungarian friends.
The event concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, carrying a clear message: culture is not only identity—it is a powerful bridge and a solid foundation for the continued growth of the Vietnam–Hungary comprehensive partnership.
