Vietnamese Embassy hosts friendly exchange, strengthening Vietnam - Laos - Cuba solidarity in Austria
WVR - On August 27, at the Vietnamese Embassy in Vienna, Austria, the Vietnamese Embassy hosted a friendly exchange and solidarity program among the staff, employees, and families of the three Embassies of Vietnam, Laos, and Cuba.

The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, contributing to nurturing the traditional friendship and special solidarity among the three countries. It also enhanced understanding, bonding, and coordination among the three representative offices in Vienna, continuing to preserve and promote the valuable legacy that generations of leaders and people of the three countries have painstakingly built.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang expressed his pleasure in welcoming comrades, colleagues, and close friends from the Lao and Cuban embassies to the “Vietnamese House” in Vienna. He emphasized that the meeting was not only an opportunity for diplomatic colleagues to exchange but also a gathering of friends and brothers bonded by a history of struggle for national independence and solidarity tested through many historical phases.
The Ambassador recalled the precious foundations of the relationship among the three Parties and countries established by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Fidel Castro, along with generations of leaders and people of the three countries. He affirmed that this is a priceless common asset that needs to be preserved and promoted across generations.
Referring to the special Vietnam-Laos friendship, the Ambassador quoted President Ho Chi Minh: “Vietnam and Laos, our two countries, are more deeply bonded than the waters of the Red River and Mekong,” affirming that the bond between the two peoples is a sustainable foundation for mutual companionship and support.
Regarding Vietnam-Cuba relations, the Ambassador recalled the historic words of President Fidel Castro: “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its own blood,” a symbol of solidarity and noble internationalism that the Vietnamese people always cherish and remember.

In response to the sentiments of the Vietnamese Embassy, Lao Ambassador Khampheng Douangthongla congratulated Vietnam on the occasion of the 81st National Day on September 2, and thanked Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang and the Vietnamese Embassy for initiating the friendly meeting among the staff, employees, and families of the three embassies.
The Ambassador emphasized that the exchange is a vivid testament to the solidarity and mutual support among Laos, Vietnam, and Cuba – three countries with many similarities in ideals, a history of struggle for national independence, and long-standing friendship. The Ambassador expressed his wish that the friendship and solidarity among the three Parties and countries continue to be preserved, nurtured, and last forever.
For his part, Cuban Ambassador Pablo Berti Oliva affirmed that the special relationship among Cuba, Vietnam, and Laos is not only built on ideological closeness and relations among the Parties and States but also stems from the deep bond among the peoples of the three countries.
Referring to the special affection of Leader Fidel Castro for Vietnam, the Ambassador affirmed that this is one of the beautiful symbols of solidarity among nations, appreciating the activities commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Leader Fidel Castro in Vietnam.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation for the solidarity and valuable support of Vietnam and Laos in the context of Cuba facing many difficulties due to blockade and embargo.

The Ambassadors highly appreciated the organization of the exchange, stating that such close activities contribute to deepening the traditional friendship among the three countries. They also expressed their desire for the three embassies to continue enhancing exchanges, cooperation, and mutual support at multilateral mechanisms and the United Nations in Vienna.
In the context of complex international developments, strengthening coordination among the three representative offices contributes to consolidating a common voice at multilateral forums for peace, stability, cooperation, and development.
After sharing their thoughts, the Ambassadors, their spouses, along with staff, employees, and families of the three embassies took commemorative photos beside the Ho Chi Minh Monument, enjoyed specialty dishes from Vietnam, Cuba, and Laos prepared by members of the three embassies, and engaged in cultural exchanges and conversations in a friendly atmosphere.
The traditional songs, dances, and conversations among the members created a warm and close-knit atmosphere of a large Vietnam-Laos-Cuba family in the Republic of Austria.
