Objectives of the project include defining the exact polluted areas and optimise the efficiency of resources for bomb and mine clearance, eliminating effects of the unexploded ordnance to locals and ensuring safety for people during production process and daily activities, thus promoting socio-economic development.

It also aims to enhance the locality’s capacity in giving first aid to victims, helping the victims improve their living conditions and integrate into the society, while raising public awareness of bomb and mine accidents.

Right after the launching ceremony, the first component of the project to explore bombs and mines in Quang Binh and Binh Dinh province started.

The project will examine 16,632 hectares in the two provinces to define polluted areas for clearance. The cleared areas will be given to locals for production or to build public works.
