Warmly welcoming Minister Kestutis Budrys on his official visit to Vietnam, Minister Le Hoai Trung highly appreciated the significance of the visit, reflecting Lithuania's respect and determination to promote comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam. This is especially aimed at implementing the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries following Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda's official visit to Vietnam in June 2025 and ahead of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2027. Minister Le Hoai Trung affirmed that Vietnam values and seeks to enhance multifaceted cooperation with Lithuania, a traditional and important friendly partner of Vietnam in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Minister Le Hoai Trung suggested that both sides continue to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level exchanges across all channels including the Party, State, National Assembly, and people-to-people exchanges to strengthen understanding, consolidate trust, and create new momentum for bilateral relations. He emphasized that both sides should effectively utilize existing cooperation agreements, promote business connectivity, and expand cooperation in areas with significant potential such as financial technology (fintech), digital infrastructure development, cybersecurity, logistics, energy, science, technology, and innovation. The two countries also need to promptly complete negotiations to sign agreements on avoiding double taxation and visa exemption for official passport holders, creating an important legal basis to promote trade in economic and labor sectors. Additionally, they should closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums and international organizations.
