In 2025, the World Tourism Day celebration on September 27 will be held in Malacca, Malaysia, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

This is a significant occasion to affirm tourism's role as a driver for equitable growth, environmental responsibility, and a sustainable future for the globe.

On this occasion, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has urged tourism management departments to implement practical activities to celebrate World Tourism Day 2025 in alignment with local conditions and development orientations. It also encourages active participation from businesses and the local tourism community, emphasising social responsibility and partnership in sustainable development.

Efforts should be intensified to promote World Tourism Day across mass media and digital platforms, linked to the theme "Tourism and Sustainable Transformation".

Communication content should highlight fully leveraging tourism's potential as a foundation for sustainable transformation, thereby boosting the economy, encouraging investment, fostering innovation, empowering communities, protecting natural resources, and spreading cultural and social values.
