| The Vietnam Consulate General in Pakse (Laos) held a press conference to provide information about the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. |
Attending the press conference were Somphong Huongvongsa, Vice Chairman of the Champasak Provincial Government Committee, Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association in Champasak Province; leaders from the Propaganda Department, Department of Foreign Affairs, representatives from the Vietnamese Associations in Southern Laos, the Vietnam Business Association in Southern Laos, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade's representative office in Southern Laos, and media agencies from the four southern provinces of Laos (Champasak, Attapeu, Salavan, Sekong).

At the press conference, Consul General Ta Phuong Dung informed the delegates about the significance, policies, and directions of the 14th Congress of the Party, the preparation work for the Congress, major orientations, and key tasks in the coming period, including three strategic breakthroughs and six key tasks. The preparation of the Congress documents was highlighted, emphasizing innovation in document construction, based on the new realities of the country, the development of theoretical awareness, and implementation, ensuring consistency in content.
The Consul General also informed the delegates about the results of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the 2021-2025 period. One notable outcome is the restructuring of the state apparatus towards being streamlined, strong, efficient, and effective from the central to local levels. For the first time, Vietnam organized a two-tier government, reduced 29 provincial administrative units, and cut 7,277 commune-level administrative units, with no district-level administrative units established.

During the press conference, Somphong Huongvongsa, Vice Chairman of Champasak Province, gave an interview in which he highly appreciated the Consulate General's organization of information about the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He noted that it clearly shows the two Parties and States' intention to further develop their close-knit relationship.
The Vice Chairman praised the Party's leadership and direction in advancing Vietnam's economy, which is becoming increasingly competitive globally. He emphasized that the two Parties, States, and peoples stood side by side in the past to fight for national liberation and unification. Today, they continue to nurture and develop a unique relationship, as reflected in the poetry of President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane.

Also at the press conference, the Presidents of the Vietnamese Associations, leaders from the Propaganda Department, and the Departments of Foreign Affairs of the southern provinces of Laos gave interviews to media agencies about the 14th National Congress of Vietnam and the special relationship between the two Parties and States.
Delegates viewed a photo exhibition on President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane, as well as other leaders of the two Parties and States.
Through the Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse, Party Secretaries of the four southern provinces of Laos, the Vietnamese Associations of the four southern provinces of Laos, and the Vietnam Business Association in Southern Laos sent congratulatory letters to the Central Committee of the Party and the 14th National Congress of the Party.
