Vietnam is pursuing a strategy of multilateralization, diversification, and independent diplomacy with three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy. The relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation and Saint Petersburg is very positive.

The VFF President highly appreciated the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) for coordinating with Saint Petersburg partners to organize the first Vietnam-Russia People's Forum. This is a meaningful activity, contributing to deepening the friendship between the peoples of the two countries and setting out many new directions for people-to-people diplomacy.

According to him, Vietnam has made remarkable progress. In 1986, when implementing the renovation policy, Vietnam was one of the poorest countries in the world, lacking food. However, after 40 years, Vietnam has ensured food security and become one of the world's leading rice exporters, with a production of about 8 million tons.

Currently, Vietnam ranks 32nd in the world in terms of economic scale, among the top 20 countries with the largest global trade. The people's living standards are continuously improving. By 2025, Vietnam aims to eliminate all temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households. One of Vietnam's great strengths is the people's unity, trust, and the connection of ideas and strength of the Party and the nation.

He believes that VUFO will fulfill its role and mission to connect and effectively carry out cooperative activities between the peoples and social organizations of the two countries.

In 2023, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's first visit to Petrograd, the Saint Petersburg authorities, in collaboration with Vietnam, organized the inauguration ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh Monument - a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
