US Secretary of Defence to visit Vietnam

US Secretary of Defence James Mattis will pay an official visit to Vietnam from January 24-25 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart General Ngo Xuan Lich.

The visit aims to enhance the friendship and trust between the two countries’ armies and people, contributing to pushing the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership.

The Secretary will depart from Washington on Sunday for an initial two-day stop in Indonesia, followed by a visit to Ha Noi on Wednesday and Thursday for talks with senior governments and military leaders.
