Tuc Dup Cave

At the end of May, under the harsh summer sun, we want to find a calm and peaceful place to rest and escape the heat. Amid the overlapping natural scenery, look at the vast field and the distant Phung Hoang mountain range (Tri Ton district - An Giang). Tuc Dup Hill - a rocky plateau in the plain- preserves many historical achievements of the people of the Bay Nui region.

Cave on sunny days

Tuc Dup Hill rises in the middle of the southern sky with green forest trees. Millions of rocks stacked on each other look rough but make it extremely special. Ancient tree roots cling to the hillside, creating unusual shapes. Once sunk, nameless vines twirling, clinging to large and small rocks proves the ecosystem's harmony from the dreamy forest's nature. Standing on the top of the hill, thousands of characteristic trees are on all sides, mixed with the color of the summer phoenix, but it is very floating, watching the vast sky.

Stepping down is the door leading to the zigzag cave system, connected through each narrow alley. There are still inscriptions engraved on the cliffs with information about the strategic symbols of soldiers in the previous period. Countless interspersed cave tunnels combine to form a magical labyrinth, leading visitors through the rhythmic flapping of wings of birds, bats, and insects. Sunlight dances softly, creeping through the gap, creating a picture of a space full of vitality, rays of sunshine sketching the magic. The hotter the sun, the cooler the inside because of the cool breezes and the mysterious wind blowing in waves in the cave, making the soul feel like a spiritual refreshment, letting go of all the worries.

Cave on rainy days

Bright sunny days are also a good omen for heavy rains to come. The cave is still exceptionally dry, no matter how severe the rain or wind is outside. Isolated raindrops fell and splashed like clear glass flowers beating, and the stone was vague. Listening to the sound of rain and rustling forests, red phoenix flowers swaying to catch every tear, we seem to see the call of nature.

This place contains mesmerizing beauty and profound historical significance. Each stone slab and each corner of the cave is imprinted with time and witnesses many heroic stories. Come to Tuc Dup Cave to find the roots and to see more clearly the cultural and spiritual values of the Vietnamese people.

Tuc Dup carried a flame of revolutionary struggle in the 30s and 40s of the twentieth century. Thanks to the rugged terrain, the French colonialists could not find shelter for the revolutionary soldiers and did not dare to sweep and hunt. Since 1960, Tuc Dup has been the base of the Tri Ton District Party Committee and the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, an important bridge to bring the Northern legions across the Truong Son through Cambodia to spread throughout the Southwestern battlefield. This place nurtured essential factors, especially the training and fostering of many key cadres during the hot struggle period during the Tet Offensive in 1968.

Tuc Dup cave is the place to embrace the memories of the war of the army and people of An Giang, a shelter from the sun and rain, from bombs and bullets for generations of heroes.

Surely Tuc Dup will leave in everyone's heart more than what we wish for and describe. It is the interference between the ancient and the modern, between the real and the colorful fairy tale, and between nature and artificial. Over time, this place still retains its pure beauty. Every day transforms into a scenic place welcoming everyone to visit - hiding from the sun and sheltering from the rain.
