Vietnamese cities among 100 best food cities worldwide

The capital city of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and the central city of Hue are three Vietnamese destinations making it into the list of the 100 must-visit food cities in the world in 2024-2025 by food magazine TasteAtlas.

Accordingly, Hue city in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue ranked 35th in the list 100 best food cities worldwide.

It is renowned for dishes like bún bò Huế (spicy beef noodle soup), bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes topped with shrimp or pork), and nem lụi (grilled pork on lemongrass skewers).

Meanwhile, Hanoi was placed 40th position with highlights like Phở, Bún chả (Grilled Pork Meatballs with Vermicelli Noodles), Bún riêu (Tomato and Crab Noodle Soup), and Bún ốc (Snail Noodle Soup).

Ho Chi Minh City, on the other hand, offers a mix of flavors with delicious dishes, such as Chả giò (fried spring rolls), canh chua (Sweet and Sour Tamarind Soup), and Cơm tấm (Broken Rice).

The rankings of the 100 cities are based on 477,287 valid food ratings across 15,478 dishes. Naples of Italy topped the list of best food cities in the world, followed by two other Italian cities, including Milan and Bologna.
