This annual event, organized by the Ton Duc Thang Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, serves as a meaningful tribute to honor the lifelong dedication of President Ton Duc Thang to the revolutionary cause of national liberation and nation-building.
Mr. Pham Thanh Nam, Director of the Ton Duc Thang Museum, recalled President Ton Duc Thang’s contributions to national liberation, reunification, and the construction and defense of the country over nearly 70 years.
President Ton Duc Thang was a shining example of patriotism, unwavering loyalty to the Party, wholehearted dedication to the people, humility, and simplicity in his lifestyle, as well as deep love for his comrades and fellow countrymen.
On this occasion, the Ton Duc Thang Museum received the 90-episode documentary series Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh era – A television chronicle, along with rare photographs of President Ton Duc Thang, donated by the People’s documentary and film studio and Mrs. Ton Thi Bach Tuyet, President Ton Duc Thang’s granddaughter.
A special photograph capturing a reunion between Ton Duc Nhung and his son, Ton Duc Hung, with his elder brother, President Ton Duc Thang, after the reunification of Vietnam at 35 Tran Phu Street, Hanoi, was also donated by his grandchildren, Ton Thi Bach Tuyet and Le Anh Dung, to be displayed at the museum.

The museum director expressed his hope to continue receiving valuable donations of documents and artifacts from organizations and individuals to enrich and diversify the museum’s collections, enhancing the exhibitions and educational efforts about President Ton Duc Thang’s life and revolutionary career.

The exhibition highlights the revolutionary journey of President Ton Duc Thang from the moment he was released from Con Dao Prison and returned to the mainland after the August Revolution of 1945 until 1975.
Visitors will see many photographs of President Ton Duc Thang working alongside the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, and the Government, leading the nation through both the resistance war against French colonialists and the struggle against American imperialists, ultimately achieving the liberation of South Vietnam and national reunification.
A particularly moving section of the exhibition showcases images of President Ton Duc Thang’s return to his homeland after nearly 30 years away, evoking deep emotions among the people of southern Vietnam and the entire nation.
Additionally, the exhibition emphasizes the aspiration for national unity—a dream shared by generations of Vietnamese people and a central goal of both President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton duc Thang. This enduring aspiration for national independence and reunification has been realized, paving the way for Vietnam’s strong and promising future.
