The World and Vietnam Report wins prize at the National Press Awards on Finance

The World and Vietnam Report won the C prize with the article "Vietnam has essentially operated as a market economy" by the group of authors Tran Thi Lieu and Pham Anh Tuan.
The 9th National Press Awards on the Finance Sector in 2025 has been organized since 2006. This year's event marks the ninth edition of the awards, aiming to honour outstanding journalistic works and dedicated authors who have written about the operations and development of the finance sector.

This is a meaningful activity, providing timely encouragement and motivation, and fostering the attention of reporters and editors from news agencies and media outlets in actively disseminating and promoting the Party’s and State’s policies on economic-financial matters and the activities of the finance sector.
According to the Organizing Committee, the 9th National Press Awards on the Finance Sector in 2025 features continued innovations compared to previous editions. The Ministry of Finance leadership has decided to expand the categories of entries to include all four forms of journalism: print, online, radio, and television. This move aims to encourage and motivate journalists and authors to actively report on the finance sector.

The number of participating media outlets and authors has significantly increased, with 2,750 entries submitted across all four journalistic formats: print, radio, television, and online. The quality of the entries has shown notable improvements, with diverse formats and rich topics closely aligned with current events and addressing many emerging issues in Vietnam’s economic and financial development.
After two rounds - preliminary and final - the Final Evaluation Council selected the most outstanding entries for awards.
Accordingly, the Special Prize was awarded to the author group Cao Thi Thanh Tra and Vu Van Nhat from the News Department of Vietnam Television for their TV report series: "The Insurance Sector's Efforts to Support and Compensate Customers Affected by Storm No. 3 (Yagi)."
There are also presented 4 First Prizes (A), 20 Second Prizes (B), and 28 Third Prizes (C) for other outstanding entries. Among them, The World and Vietnam Report received a Third Prize (C) for the article "Vietnam has essentially operated as a market economy," authored by the group Tran Thi Lieu and Pham Anh Tuan.

Additionally, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang awarded Certificates of Merit to 9 media organizations that made notable contributions to the competition’s success and played an active role in disseminating information about finance and investment.
Also at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chi, Deputy Minister of Finance, officially launched the 10th National Press Awards on the Finance Sector in 2027, in celebration of the 82nd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Finance Sector (August 28, 1945 – August 28, 2027).
