The German Business Association (GBA) elects 2025 Board of Directors & marks its 30th anniversary

WVR - The German Business Association (GBA) has elected its new Board of Directors for 2025, with Mr. Alexander Ziehe from Viessmann Vietnam appointed as Chairman.

The announcement was made at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on January 20, 2025, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The event, attended by the German Ambassador to Vietnam Helga Margarete Barth and 130 GBA members, marked the launch of a new logo and special webpage for its 30th anniversary.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth praised the GBA’s efforts in strengthening trade relations between Germany and Vietnam. Mrs. Barth remarked, “I am impressed by the broad range of activities of the GBA that I have witnessed since my arrival to Vietnam last summer – all of them targeted towards the deepening of our bilateral economic relations. I am optimistic about the future of our partnership, especially with the election of the GBA’s new, strong, and diverse Board of Directors. The German Embassy and Consulate-General in Vietnam are committed to supporting the new GBA Board, and we look forward to working together, particularly as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Germany and Vietnam in 2025.

The AGM came together to review the GBA’s achievements, highlights, and financial report for 2024. It also presented the outlook and future strategic directions for 2025, marking the GBA’s 30th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the event featured the launch of GBA’s new logo and a dedicated webpage for its 30th anniversary in 2025. This platform showcases the remarkable journey of the GBA community and the achievements of its members that have shaped the German business community over the past three decades.

The GBA members also elected its Board of Directors for 2025 via an e-voting system, including fourteen representatives from: AHK Vietnam, Allianz Partners, BASF Vietnam, Bayer Vietnam, B.Braun Vietnam, CBTW, Deutsche Bank Vietnam, Duane Morris Vietnam, Fr. Meyer’s Sohn Vietnam, German Dental Clinic, Rödl & Partner, Schaeffler, The Anam Group, and Viessmann Vietnam.

Re-appointed Chairman Mr. Alexander Ziehe expressed his gratitude to the GBA members for their trust and support. Chairman Ziehe stated, “2024 has demonstrated an outstanding and strong year for the Germany-Vietnam economic relations. Growing to over 400 members, increasing our events by 30%, and significantly expanding our media presence are testaments to our thriving community. We are active partners in Vietnam’s growth, shaping a sustainable, innovative, and resilient economy. Our vision for 2025 is to accelerate these efforts and make a lasting impact.”

“Germany and Vietnam share a deep connection based on trust and mutual respect. GBA will continue to create meaningful partnerships, driving a future proven economy by digital transformation, modern infrastructure, innovation, sustainability and workforce development to support both countries’ economic aspirations.”
